Not just for young Egyptians ⛰️
On my second visit to Dahab, I set off on a little adventure trip to Wadi El Weshwash. Inspired by the prospect of a refreshing swim in a natural pool filled with spring and rainwater – yes, it does rain in the Sinai mountains even in winter – I booked this tour with Rehab.
As the only older European in the small hiking group, I received special attention. The young Egyptians, some of them from Alexandria, served as my ‘bodyguards’ and escorted me safely to this natural wonder. They also encouraged me to jump from a rock about three meters high into the cool water.
The tour was a true experience that I would definitely like to repeat. Only this time with sturdy hiking boots and even more drinking water, because the path to the destination leads over hill and dale. With a bit of luck, you might even witness the celebration of the ‘Future of Egypt’ in this popular destination for young people.
A great experience that earned me the nickname ‘Silver Fox from Germany’ among some of the young ‘pharaohs’. You can find out more about this largely unknown natural wonder here. If you would like me to refer you to Rehab, please send me a short message via the contact form.
